Angels Groundskeepers that is.

Newest assignment for Orange Coast is out now.

Barney Lopas the amazingly knowledgeable and talented groundskeeper for Angels Stadium was the subject of this months Trade Secrets section.

It’s kind of amazing how much this guy does to keep the proper moisture level, grass height, and pattern perfect all day everyday.

Seriously, I’ve been busy!

He flies those banner ads you see hovering above you at the beach or county fairs.

He also let me fly his stunt plane.

This reminds me of the Solaris (The remake, movie meh, music=great) original score by Cliff Martinez.

My barometer is always whether or not I can remember something it in my head afterwards, and if I do, did it fit the movies mood completely.

My last assignment for Orange Coast is on the shelves now.

I used to watch this guy review video games on a little underrated show on what was then TechTV. I had no idea he was the musical genius behind Earthworm Jim and other games of my youth.

He’s a big kid at heart, and his home is filled with the same kind of movie memorabilia I used to (and still secretly) wish for while perusing Sharper Image catalogs. He also owns a lifesize Tron lightcycle.

Media Blackout Week

I have decided to make myself a stronger person.

To start off this “Vision Quest” I have decided to shelter myself from television, facebook, wandering the internet aimlessly, and general time wasting activities for a week. Like a master cleanse of media.

Instead I’ll be doing the reading I always tell myself I’m going to do. Limber myself up with morning yoga, and take nighttime runs listening to Journey’s “Only The Young.”

Status update in a week, plus some extra pre-scheduled posts during the holidays.

Also… I think I need to find a jacket like this guy’s.
